What's New?
This new series is where I share with you exciting projects that I'm working on and also things going on in my life. In the past, I haven't gotten too personal on my blog, but I'd like to change that. So, I'm welcome to questions that you may have about me, my life, blog or art, or anything you'd like to see or read more about. You can ask via the comment section or you can pop me an email. I'd also like it to be a place where you can tell me what's going on in your life and blogs.
Since April, I've decided to concentrate on
doing more of what makes me happy.
And here are some of the steps I've taken to do just that:
I left my job.
And I am happier.
I began to practice and hone my writing skills.
It's hard work, but I feel accomplished.
It's hard work, but I feel accomplished.
I am concentrating on my blog and creating an inviting space for people to be inspired and motivated by what they read and see.
I have lined up a few artists already for my "dinners with..." series, which is all about interviews with artists and musicians, where we discuss their craft, their favourite 'eats' and people.
I am drawing and painting.
I am tapping into the creative spirit in me.
Since I'm living in a foreign country with very few job options, and rather than take the easy way out and sit around on my tush all day lamenting about it, I have decided to determine my own path and my own financial stability. I am working on developing my shop. My goal is to have it open sometime this summer. At this stage, I'm doing a lot of research and planning, and honing my skills. This goal will help me become more financially stable in a foreign country where there are few career possibilities for me.
It's frightening, but exciting. Wish me luck!

Are you doing
more of what makes you happy?
p.s. I had to share this Volkswagen Commercial with you.
I just can't stop watching it. And I think it's quite inspirational
because to me it's more than just a car commercial. It's a message that says you can do anything as long as you put your mind to it - at any age!
May the force be with you!

I'm definitely not doing what makes me happy at the moment, but have started to think about what it might actually be that I may like to do for myself. I am determined to change the way I live my life currently.
ReplyDeleteA lot of change has to do with stepping out of your comfort zone, so I admire your bravery in taking all those steps to being a more fulfilled person.
Good for you for doing what makes you happy! That's what living life to the fullest is all about! XX

You're now my idol. I kind of want to quit my job really bad but I can't figure out what I'd do in it's place to make a living. Happiness is IMPORTANT!
ReplyDeleteYou are an inspiration! I am trying to do what makes me happy, but I can't say it works out every single day. I am trying to put changes in place though, to make it true. Thanks for reminding me!
ReplyDeleteYou are forging new paths, and how exciting and frightening that must be. Good luck to you. And yes, blogging is cyclical indeed.
ReplyDeleteHello, Reese! I am your newest follower. I found you on Rosaria's blog.
ReplyDeleteI have recently committed myself to doing more of "what makes me happy", as I begin to make the transition to a new career (I have given myself a two year time limit to get 'er done). I look forward to reading more of your adventures!

Loved little Darth!
Way to go Reese! No sitting around on tushes getting nothing accomplished. Looking forward to hearing more about what's going on!
ReplyDeleteHey Everyone! I love all your comments about doing more of what makes you happy. And I believe that even if you can't take big steps like changing your career or situation, you can start with small steps....every bit makes your spirit that much more stronger and happier.
ReplyDeleteI hope you will continue to share with me your plans and experiences on this path that I'm taking.
You guys are ROCK STARS!
it's a bold step - but success only comes with courage and hard work, and you have both! xo bb
ReplyDeleteFirst off I have to say that is one of my favorite commercials ever! SO cute!
ReplyDeleteThis post is so inspiring! You are inspiring! I think it is great that you are making your blog a place to really connect with people on a more personal level. When I first started blogging I thought I would remain pretty anonymous, but I've realized now that blogging is really a great way to meet wonderful people!
It is great that you are making so many good changes in your life. Hearing that you quit your job and that you are happier is inspiring to me. I hate my job SO much. It creates a lot of stress and unhappiness for me. I feel like I can't quit because of the money, but at the same time I want to be happy because we only have one life to live!
Anyway, thanks for sharing all these great changes!
Love this idea. And yes, I'm trying to stay positive and see every day as a new opportunity for something new and something exciting. :) Positivity is awesome!!!
