Lemon and Honey

hello my lovelies!

I'm so sorry that it's been quiet here lately but I got hit with the flu last week.
it hit me pretty hard. i was lucky to have the hubby help take care of me.
I drank lots of hot water with lemon and honey, and ibuprofen for my fever and headaches. I, also, enjoyed a very, very hot bath with candles to help with my headaches and soothe the sinuses. i'm on the mend and feeling so much better. it's weird or maybe it's normal but i feel the older I get, the more difficult it is to recover from these things. and as I get older, i realize that it really is so important to take care of your health - without it, you can't enjoy anything or do anything.

what are your thoughts on this?
what do you do or take to make you feel better?

...don't forget to take good care of
yourselves my darlings.
wishing you good health.

  1. Oh Reese, I hope you feel better soon! How lovely of your husband to take such good care of you.

My secret weapons against a cold are Lemsip, many warm blankets and tea with whiskey.

I love the photos you curated for this post, the cup with the naked lady is fantastic!

  2. Sorry to hear you've been ill! It's good your sweet hubby was there to take care of you and you're feeling better. I find it harder to recover as I get older as well. I had a bad wrist injury last summer that only recently stopped hurting completely. With colds/flu, I try to nip them before they even develop into anything full fledged by taking copious amounts of ester c and avoiding any cold beverages at the first sign of any symptoms.

  3. Sorry you were so under the weather. I can tell you it does get harder to bounce back as you get older. Listen to you body and rest it when it asks you to.

  4. Oh no! I'm sorry to hear you were feeling so terrible but I'm glad things are looking up now! I love drinking tea when I'm sick. I also use it to make hot toddies. I'm 100% convinced they cure any cold! For some reason, I also crave ramen soup when I'm sick. I don't know if it's something from childhood or what but as soon as I'm feeling under the weather, that's the only thing I want to eat. Weird, huh?

  5. I'm not sure it's more difficult to feel better as we get older. It's just that whilst we are ill, we are lying there thinking of all the things we should be doing, and it feels like such a long time, (as opposed to a day off school watching cartoons) ;-)
Pleased you are feeling better Reese xx

  21. I recently discovered a lemon-honey tea from Korea that I drink at the first sign of any sickness. I'm not sure if it actually helps, but at least I *think* it makes me feel better. :)

I'm glad you're getting well again! Take it easy!
